Suzuki/ASTA conference 2024
Big News: Three Students Selected for SAA Conference 2024! 🎉
I am beyond thrilled to announce that three students from Shu-Yi Scott Cello Studio have been selected to participate in the 2024 SAA Conference Student Orchestra this March! 🎻🎶 For those who don’t know, the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) Conference is a huge deal for young musicians, and this year’s event is extra special—it’s the first one since COVID and is being held in conjunction with ASTA (American String Teachers Association)!
To say I’m proud is an understatement. These students have worked so hard to earn their spot in this prestigious orchestra. But let’s not forget the real MVPs behind the scenes—their amazing parents! 🙌 Their unwavering support, dedication of time, energy, and yes, even resources, have made this memorable opportunity possible. It’s moments like this that remind us just how important the partnership between students, teachers, and families truly is.
But this experience wasn’t just about rehearsals and schedules (though there was plenty of that!). What made this journey even more special was seeing these three students care for and support each other. They didn’t just grow as musicians—they built a stronger bond with one another. Watching them lift each other up and create lasting memories as a team was one of the highlights for me.
Oh, and if that wasn’t enough excitement—two of these students were selected to perform in a masterclass with none other than Ms. Yumi Kendall, assistant principal of the Philadelphia Orchestra! 🎶 Can you imagine?! The opportunity to learn from such an incredible musician and mentor will undoubtedly inspire and elevate their playing to new heights.
I couldn’t be more thankful, proud, and excited for what’s to come for these three dedicated young musicians. Their hard work, commitment, and passion for music have truly paid off, and I’m absolutely buzzing to see what they achieve next.
Let’s keep the music alive and the inspiration flowing! 🎶🎻
